Michael Power

I write with hands dirtied by twenty years in high-energy startups and technology ethics, where I continue to work full time. Cursed by optimism and daydreaming, I can’t stop exploring ways that innovation could change the world, for better or worse.

I fell in love with writing, photography and filmmaking as a child. And when people started to employ me, I put storytelling at the centre of every role I had, whether they wanted it or not. Born in England, with jaunts to over 40 countries so far, I live with my wife in Belfast, N. Ireland, my adopted home since 2010. Hey Ma is my debut novel.

And if you really must know, Michael Power is the pen name for Ben Bland. Michael is my father’s first name; Power my mother’s maiden name. Power beats Bland any day, huh?
